The tension in the relations between Arabs and Jews is because of the events of October 2000 in which Arab citizens of the state of Israel were killed and wounded.

The heads of local councils in Galilee (Elshagoor) area and the mayor of Karmeil decided to deal with this problem. They began to think of Arab and Jews principals because they have a great effect in the fields of education. The only two principals out of 16 that agree to deal with this problem were I (Najebe Serhan) and Osnat Aram.
The first meeting between us was great and we act as if we know each other long time ago, and that what facilitates the act of communication between us. We worked hard to improve and to strengthen the relations between Arabs and Jews.

In our meetings we talked about the problems that the area is suffered from and about the obstacles that Karmeil and Majd-Elkorom faced. These meetings strengthen the relations between the stuff of both of our schools (Elsalam and Kalanet Karmeil).

I and Osnat planned a plan of how to work and what to do for the pupils in both of the schools. The first meeting of the pupils was in the nature and later we came up with variety of activities:

1. Learning about town and village through the computer.
2. Football team composed of Arab and Jewish pupils.
3. A band which sing Arabic and Hebrew songs for peace.
4. Monthly meetings between the crew of nannies.
5. Market that sells products that the Arab and Jews mothers prepared, then the pupils will donate the money to the Arab and Jewish needy families.
6. Arab and Jewish meetings between the parents of the pupils, they talked about the traditions, the customs and the holidays. In addition they talked about the woman in Judaism and Islam.

The steps of this project have become daily habits. We have been rewarded for our good deed and marvelous achievements by Dr.Yehoda Stoloq, the general manager of the assembly of fraternity between religions. In addition we received an amount of money in Seraiquoo and finally we participated in several conferences for peace in Spanish, Turkish and United States.

I am proud of what we achieved. To my darling and best fellow, you are a great
woman; you made a great deed that no one else can do.
